The name Sël-yeki Dêtîkè is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Sël-yeki Dêtîkè was founded by Drurkrod Trg̈g̈gado, who was culturaly Iron Elven.
Climate
Sël-yeki Dêtîkè has a yearly average temperature of 25°C (77°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 32°C (89°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 18°C (64°F). Sël-yeki Dêtîkè receives an average of 251 cm/y (98 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. Sël-yeki Dêtîkè covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 1866 m (6122 ft) above sea level.
Overview
Sël-yeki Dêtîkè was founded durring the early 16th century in spring of the year 1500, by Drurkrod Trg̈g̈gado. The establishment of Sël-yeki Dêtîkè was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Drurkrod Trg̈g̈gado struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Sël-yeki Dêtîkè as a prison colony.
Sël-yeki Dêtîkè was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 16th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Sël-yeki Dêtîkè is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature stone brick construction with most buildings posessing towers, turrets, dormers, and wide wrap-around porches. An extreem emphasis on decorative features and emblishments can be seen even on the poorest of homes and makes even the most humble of structures seem a bit regal.
Sël-yeki Dêtîkè is buildings are arranged arrounded highly ordered system of broad packed earth streets which form octogonal paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The town emploies a series of defencive earthworks and fences to provide minimal protection against wild beasts and smaller groups of intelegent foes. The town's somewhat suffishent have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the town.
A look around Sël-yeki Dêtîkè gives you an uneasy feeling. Everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or both. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring jsut long enough for it to be uncomfortable.
Civic Infrastructure
Sël-yeki Dêtîkè has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Sël-yeki Dêtîkè. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Sël-yeki Dêtîkè's parks.

Sël-yeki Dêtîkè possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Large Town. Sël-yeki Dêtîkè's grid is powered by a direct leyline tap.
Sël-yeki Dêtîkè has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Sël-yeki Dêtîkè's natural decorations nor waterways.
Sël-yeki Dêtîkè has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.
Sël-yeki Dêtîkè has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.
Sël-yeki Dêtîkè has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.
Cultural Notes
Sël-yeki Dêtîkè has a long tradition of martial expertise. This may be a crisply-organized history of skilled native levies, or it may be a natural belligerence in the people that leaves them familiar with bloodshed. While their neighbors and liege doubtless respect their talents, this very aptitude might make them more willing to turn to steel than prudence would advise.
Sël-yeki Dêtîkè's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known for its fluid and florid elaborate style, comprising ornate, asymmetric designs and pastel shades. It is often considered to be a playful, light style, which made exuberant use of curves and emphasized subtle asymmetry in the general shape of its structures. Walls, ceilings and moldings are decorated with numerous interlacing of curves and counter-curves based on the shapes of ‘C’ and ‘S’, along with shell forms and other naturalistic shapes.
